Historically religion has shaped society through its teaching and values, but is it now undoing society through friction between different groups?

religion is a barbaric concept and just look at this country and around the world to see what it does for people.
Religion is fanatical and destructive.
Science is the only true religion.
Religion will probably ALWAYS have its positives and negatives.
But which is the more prominent? Does the good out do the bad? Or vice versa?

i dont belive that there is a perfect religion. they all ahve their faults but in genrall people that live by the rules of thier faith mkae the world a easier pace to live in. evan if they do annoy you with their constant pestering. (prech to all. if nessacery use words.) example..
I honestly don't think it does!
I believe that religions have evolved over a long time to be benign in practice. I personally do not believe in God. However I have concluded that, on average, people who attend church regularly contribute more to society than those who, like me, do not.
